- How to do a Quick Search across the website
Whether or not you are logged in, you will be able to perform a Quick Search across the entire site. Go to the Quick Search on the Home Page and enter search terms. You can enter your chosen search words and search on all, any or exact. Then click Search.
Note: That search words need to be at least 3 characters long

- How to do an Advanced Search across Cases, Legislation, Articles, News and/or Submissions
Logged in subscribers have access to an Advanced Search capability. From the Home Page, select the Advanced Search button.
Note: That search words need to be at least 3 characters long

You will then see the following screen:

From this screen you can:
- Enter keyword/s and select all or any of the keywords or the exact phrase;
- Search across a date range;
- Select which area of the site you wish to search, including cases, legislation, articles, news and submissions.
Clicking in the Area of Law field reveals a screen that allows you to select areas of the law. Once you have selected your areas of law you can close the screen.

Click the search button in the bottom right hand corner of the advanced search screen. This will load a page of search results. At the top of the search results you can filter your results between the different areas of the site.

- How to do an Advanced Search for Cases
Logged in subscribers have access to more specific searching options for cases.
Go to the Cases page on the main menu and click the Search Cases button.
Note: That search words need to be at least 3 characters long
The Search Cases screen will appear. Enter the search terms as desired and click Search.

The search results screen will be displayed. Click on the case name or Read More to view the full headnote.

The headnote summary will appear. Click ‘Download PDF’ to view the full decision.

- How to do an Advanced Search for Legislation
Logged in subscribers have access to an advanced search capability across the legislation archive.
Click the Legislation button and then Search Legislation.
Note: That search words need to be at least 3 characters long

The Search Legislation screen will appear. Complete fields as desired and click Search.

The results screen will be displayed. Click the title of the legislation you wish to view or Read More to view the full summary.
The legislation summary will be displayed. Click ‘Download PDF’ to view the legislation.

- How to use the Resources pages
The Resources section of the site has a list of pages sorted by subject containing useful links on the internet as well as links to legislation.
Click the Resources button and then the subject area as desired.

Click on legislation title or website link. This will take you to the site or legislation as selected.
